Knappstein Reserve Lager (Second trial)

Rating: 5.5/10

Smooth and almost buttery flavour down your throat. Not bubbly. Considering it being a lager, I was surprised by its richness. Flowery finish. It definitely does not have a metallic taste whatsoever as last time I had experienced. (Top fermented?)

White Rabbit Dark Ale

Rating: 5.5/10

Banana scent. Not as dark as I expected. It makes a nice light winter afternoon drink. Surprisingly the bottle tastes close to the tap. I still prefer darker styles.

Wild Dog Barrel-aged Gonzo Imperial Porter

Rating: 6/10
Coffee smell, black in colour. Smooth and warm. It has a hint of caramel and I can taste roasted nuts. Appearance of taste of raisin toast towards the end. Overall, tastes are a bit in and out and slightly unordered. Personally, the quantity seems large for a strong and present tastes.

Hitachino Nest Red Rice

Rating: 6/10

Applee. Warm spring.

Samuel Smith's Imperial Stout

Rating: 7/10

Almost black and a hint of wine-like red in colour. Smells like soy sauce and bitter caramel. Overall, it's sour. In taste, the journey starts with creamy to bitter and sour. This bitterness dissappears slowly leaving the first creamy and mildly sweet aftertaste. This lingers around on the nose for a long time after you finish swallowing. It seems to keep developing. It finishes with a warm and huggy taste. Definitely a great winter drink.

Emerson's Pilsner

Ah, blame the weather. What a moody beer drinker I am.

Realization

I should really start writing the review as I drink the beer.
The memories of the past experience seem to fade away too quickly.
I'd like the next beer hunting targets to be Emerson's Weizenbock, Pilsner or Epic Pale Ale.

Mac's Hop Rocker

Rating: ?/10

I was too tired when I tried this. Also need to try again.

Jamieson Beast IPA

Rating: ?/10

Need to try again.

Dieu du Ciel Péché Mortel

Rating: 4/10

I remember it being tasty. However the 2nd time I tried it, the coffee flavour was too strong. Perhaps I was not in the mood.

Maiden Ale Brewboys Special Release

Rating: 5.5/10

You're mouth is suddenly filled with honey delivered straight from the flowers.
This would make a perfect afternoon beer, equivalent of afternoon tea.
Maiden Ale focuses on the complexity of the flavour of honey, rather than it's obvious sweetness. Without over using the sweetness, it presents you with clean and pleasant journey.

Big Helga Dry Munich Style Lager

Rating: 4/10
Frankly, can't recall it too well other than the smoothness. I would not mind retrying.

Aspall Draught Suffolk Cyder

Knappstein Reserve Lager

Rating: 3/10
Refreshing floral aroma, pleasant but short body and metallic aftertaste.
I could comprehend the "wine-like" taste(as described on the label) the beer is trying to achieve. However the aftertaste lasted long and it was excessively overpowering. Perhaps a bad bottle.

Emerson's Old 95

Rating: 7/10

"This strong heady ale is full-bodied with toffeeish malt sweetness followed by complex, fruity notes and hop flavours. The late palate is full of floral hop flavours, followed by a long lingering bitterness." - www.emersons.co.nz
